Cora has been studying Buddhism since 13 and has been committed to practicing Yoga to develop compassion and joy since 1994. After a stressful Ivy League education and fervent career as Vice President of a bank, she left corporate America finding her passion in yoga, and has been leading workshops and retreats internationally since 1996.

She is an avid and focused practitioner of Hatha yoga, and has been influenced by renowned teachers including Judith Hanson Lasater, Erich Schiffmann, Patricia Walden and Rodney Yee. From 1996–2003, she had a private teaching apprenticeship with Erich Schiffmann, and since 1998 assists Judith Hanson Lasater in teacher training and therapeutic workshops.

She blends the safety of Iyengar alignment, with a flowing practice to enliven your spirit. Cora is certified in therapeutic yoga and consistently helps her students find freedom from injuries and chronic ailments like arthritis, sciatica and fibromyalgia.

Featured in many regional newspapers and magazines, Cora is an Experienced RYT500 with Yoga Alliance and one of the first Advanced Relax and Renew Trainers of Restorative Yoga. Many students have discovered the complimentary path of meditation with yoga through Cora's passionate and enthusiastic guidance.

What Teachers Say:

“Cora has worked extensively with me for years, assisting me at workshops and traveling around the country. She's a gem. She glows. She's got the juju, and knows what's happening. Breathe, bend and bloom with Cora. You'll be glad you did!”

Erich Schiffmann, author of Moving Into Stillness. Yoga teacher since 1970

“I am filled with inspiration for Cora's commitment and for the simple joy she radiates. I enjoy being with her as she discovers her own self on the mat and then shares it with others.”

Judith Hanson Lasater, PhD & physical therapist, Author of Living Your Yoga,  Relax and Renew & 30 Essential Yoga Poses. Yoga teacher since 1971

“I have not met a more enthusiastic yoga practitioner in all my years of teaching. Her love for the art and her childlike excitement for discovering and sharing yoga insights is infectious. Most people will be touched deeply by her classes and at the same time have great fun.”

Rodney Yee, author of Yoga: The Poetry of the Body  & Moving Toward Balance Yoga teacher featured in Yoga Journal's Yoga Practice Series Videos

What Students Say:

“When you carry out acts of kindness you get a wonderful feeling inside. It is as though something inside your body responds and says, yes, this is how I ought to feel.”

Rabbi Harold Kushner

“Cora Wen is one of my favorite yoga teachers... ”

Lynn Ballai, Good Energy Yoga

“I was very inspired by the way you led with the spirit of silence, how you incorporated play, and also how you wove that into the “practice” of our everyday lives. Walking away, I feel that I received something very special and yet, I could not put my finger on it. I am honored to have met you and hope our paths cross again.”

Suzanne, Walnut Creek, CA

Class Description

Cora Wen at class

Classes are sequenced so they can prepare and open the body for asana and pranayama practice. We focus on postures to strengthen and increase flexibility, while building a solid foundation for continued practice.

Slow and mindful movement allows us to be guided from within, creating a lighthearted approach to asana. This can begin to bring a sense of wellness and harmony both on and off the mat. Preparing classes this way helps challenging poses become easier and "easy" poses more interesting...

Cora is committed to the practice of yoga and believes fitness and healing are byproducts of yoga; the actual purpose is to awaken our highest potential as human beings. Her workshops and classes are an environment to expand, explore and challenge your body, mind and spirit.
